What Is Verbal Abuse? Ways to overcome verbal abuse

Verbal Abuse is about emotional or Physical harm but it doesn't contain any involvement of Physical contact. It usually occurs when the two peoples are completely alone and no one can make their involvement to control the abuse. There are different types of Verbal Abuse including Discounting and gaslighting someone's feelings by telling them they are too sensitive, childish, and don't have a good sense of humor. Judging is another type of verbal abuse in which the abuser makes repetitive and judgmental evaluations for challenging someone else self-respect and self-worth.

The most common way of verbal abuse involves someone calling negative, demeaning, or belittling including stupid, idiot, worthless, and dumb. The person tries to deal with yelling, threatening, or demeaning another person until they feel that they have won. Withholding usually occurs when someone denies sharing their inner thoughts or feelings or some personal information with another person.

It's just like a silent treatment when someone walks away from an agreement and ignores someone's minor issues. Condescension occurs when a person makes harmful statements in the form of jokes and sarcasm whereas manipulation occurs when a person puts pressure on someone else to do something without directly staying in it.

When it comes threatening it is usually considered as the direct form of threatening false accusations that occur when a person repeatedly accuses someone of things they did not do. The perpetrator may also bring up situations that were resolved a long time ago. If you think that you are experiencing verbal abuse then try to limit your exposure to the abuser and then cut all your ties if you can. It would be best to deal with this matter with the assistance of a professional lawyer who can legally guide you everything.
